The Evolution of the “Evolution of Dance”

When a YouTube video becomes a hit, many spin-off’s from the video are produced in an attempt to capitalize on the success of the original. This can be a good thing (see “Frasier” from “Cheers”) or can be a complete failure (think “Joey” after “Friends”). As we have seen before, car insurance company GEICO has tried this approach with some successful YouTube videos. Their target this time being Judson Laipply’s “Evolution of Dance.” If you haven’t seen the original, check it out below.

Numa Numa Revisited

I’m sure by now most of you have seen the ever entertaining Numa Numa video. Whether the video was made with the intention of becoming a YouTube sensation, or was just a video never meant to be seen, it is hilarious none the less. Check it out below and I guarantee it will be in your head all day.

Auto insurance company GEICO decided to capitalize on the success of this video, releasing their own variation. See if you can spot the Gecko in the video and let us know what you think of GEICO’s strategy.
